The New Bentley Mulsanne Is My Lottery Car

I have recently been looking at top end cars in my spare time and really trying to come to grips with that question…If you won the lottery what car would you buy? After a lot of research I came across the new Bentley Mulsanne, which to be honest if you were going to buy a car to flash the only way to go would be Bentley.

Over 50% of the Bentley Mulsanne is hand crafted and each vehicle is built in around two months which highlights the effort that goes into this Bentley. This indicates that the Mulsanne is not mass produced in any way and the level of attention Bentley gives to their models. Inside the cabin you will find top quality wood veneers, leather flourishes complete with new innovations and new technologies.

The Bentley Mulsanne sports a 6.75 litre V8 engine producing 505bhp and generates an impressive 1020Nm of torque. The engine is then supported by an eight speed automatic gear box with quick shift.

The modern classic has the potential to save around 15% on CO2 emissions and fuel economy when compared to the previous engine. The Mulsanne also has the ability to make four of the eight cylinders idle whilst the car is in cruising mode improving fuel economy further.

The Bentley Mulsanne is definitely something to aspire to in the future.

New Honda Concept Expected In Tokyo

It is rumoured that we may see new concept version of the Honda NSX debut at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The 42nd Tokyo Motor Show will be hosted in Japan during the beginning of December where the new Honda is thought to be unveiled.

Automotive production has suffered in Japan over the last year due to the earthquake that hit the country at the beginning of the year. Therefore news of a new version of the Honda NSX shows promising to the industry. Sadly estimated timescales of new models have been affected, meaning this new model may not be released as early as was first thought.

Mibe Toshihiro, Honda's Research and Development chief has confirmed the new sportscar so we know something is on its way but we are just unsure when. Honda have been working on electric and hybrid models so it is expected that the new sportscar may incorporate a hybrid powertrain.

The original Honda NSX was first launched in 1990 with Ferrari being part of the inspiration for the model at the time. We are hoping that CO2 emissions will be reduced and fuel economy will be improved and if it does turn out to be a hybrid model this will go without saying.

Engines have yet to be confirmed, however Honda dealer Berkshire are already getting excited for the possibility of the new supercar. We will have to await more teasing information and perhaps say hello to the concept in Tokyo at Decembers Motor Show.

Vauxhall VXR8 Wins Most Improved MPG

The new Vauxhall VXR8 was awarded the title of ‘Best Improvement Percentage’ at the two day Fleet World MPG Marathon event in the Cotswolds. Drivers managed to increase the mile to gallon by 53% at this UK event.

The two day event is also known as the ALD Automotive/Shell FuelSave mileage marathon based in the UK. It is quite an achievement for the revised V8 powered 431bhp performance car to win the economy marathon. The 2011 revisions included refreshed styling and a variety of new features including new technologies.

Chris Mooney, Top Gear Online editor drove the Vauxhall VXR8 with helpful navigation from Andrew Duerden during the longest running economy driving event in the UK. The official combined figure is 21mpg but the duo managed to achieve a 53% increase to 32.1mpg.

This would prove extremely difficult for an everyday driver to achieve as the Vauxhall would have been driven very different to that of most motorists. The driving style is one of the most important factors to achieving an improved fuel economy. The tests covered a route of about 350 miles. The VXR8 was taken across motorways, A roads and B roads.

A presentation will be held at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London to present Chris Mooney and Andrew Duerden an accolade for their victory amongst other winners from the event.

This is an impressive achievement however I’m not sure that I will see this Vauxhall in Stoke on Trent very much in the future. The model has shown great improvements during this test however we need to remember that the Vauxhall has been titled the most improved and not the most economic.

New Volvo Connectivity App

I have only just noticed that Volvo is offering an intelligent connectivity system with all new Volvo cars from the model year 2012. The new system is in the form of a mobile app with which motorists will be able to access areas of their vehicle.

I am after a new Volvo V70 in Hereford complete with this new system, which is an extension of Volvo On Call. The application is free to download from iPhones and Android smartphones.

The connectivity possibilities via this new app are extremely impressive. The main feature of this app for many motorists will be the car locator. The Volvos location can be shown on a map complete with a digital compass to aid the search. The horn and indicators can also be accessed if needed.

For those moments when drivers think they may have forgotten to lock the car, the app displays the current status of the Volvos doors and windows. It then allows you to lock and unlock them via the app.

Vehicle information such as registration number and VIN number are stored on the app together with a driving journey of the last 40 days. These actions can be downloaded within the 40 day time frame and stored for later use.

Fuel levels, average speed, theft notification and health checks are among a number of other features and systems that the connectivity app can access and control. Looking forward to using the app and reviewing its full potential.

Aston Martin is Named the UK's Coolest Brand

Aston Martin has been voted the UK’s coolest brand in this year’s Superbrands survey. This is the second year running that Aston Martin has claimed this title and the fifth time they have claimed it in six years. Even Apple came second.

It is no surprise that Aston Martin has been named the UK’s coolest brand considering their close connection with 007. Aston Martin super cars have appeared in James Bond films and their success with motorsport across the years which may have helped develop their ‘cool’ status.

When you take a look at something like the Aston Martin DB9 it is clear to see that their models exude cool style and class. Aston Martin is a brand that people look to aspire to and look to associate themselves with such a luxurious brand.

Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the CoolBrands Expert Council, describes Aston Martin as “Smooth, sexy and sophisticated; British built, high quality and hand finished, let’s be honest, young or old, male or female, opinion former or British public, who wouldn’t aspire to own what is truly the coolest car on the road. Number one in five of the last six years, this British icon is truly the coolest of the cool.”

Superbrand was founded in 1995 in London. The conduct independent research and collected around 2,000 votes from consumers, marketing experts and various business people across the UK.

The all new Hyundai i30 is said to be more economical than before. The model will be available with three diesel and three petrol engines when it is launched early next year as a five door hatchback only.

Complete with Hyundai’s Blue Drive technologies the new i30 will be more economical and produce fewer CO2 emissions. The new model has also been given a face lift with a curvy new body. Hyundai’s new design philosophy includes ‘fluidic sculpture’ that embraces their new design language ‘New Thinking, New Possibilities’.

Thomas Bürkle, Chief Euro designer said: 'The new-generation i30 is recognisable thanks to the Hyundai family face with its signature hexagonal-shaped front grille and the jewel-like design of the headlamps, together with distinctive daytime running lights…These lights present an angular shape within a more softly-edged recess, adding a strong personality to the vehicle, as well as a sense of refinement and luxury.'

New Fiat Panda Is Better Than Ever

Fiat took the opportunity to unveil their new Fiat Panda at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show which began on the 15th September and will end on the 25th. It was time for the Panda to get an update especially when you think this is only the third variation of the model since it was launched in 1980.

The Fiat Panda is a compact city car; however it is probably one of the largest in this segment which suggests that five adults will be accommodated comfortably. The new Fiat Panda suits urban motoring perfectly but is capable of longer journeys too.

Fiat believes the new hatchback is more efficient and that bit more powerful thanks to a variation of engines. The entry level engine includes a 900c petrol engine that produces 64bhp. The 900c engine is also available with an output of 83bhp. Then comes a 1.2 68bhp engine followed by a 1.3 74bhp diesel engine.

Audi Shows Frankfurt It Is All About The Engine

Audi used Frankfurt Motor Show to show off more than their gorgeous cars and introduced their V8 ‘cylinders-on-demand’ unit. The new Audi engine is said to replace the current V10 powertrain. Audi dealer Norfolk understands that the engine is one of the most integral parts of any vehicle and agrees that it should be boasted about in isolation.

The engines will make appearances in the new Audi S6 and the S8 which are said to arrive in the UK early next year. The new and used Audi Norwich dealer is excited to show it off to their customers. The new Audi S7 Sportback will be another recipient of the new engine. The new Audi S6 and A7 Sportback will develop 415bhp while the Audi S8 will produce 514bhp.

Audi say that it is cost less to develop this fuel reducing engine that it would have done if they were to produce a hybrid engine. It is believed that up to 20% less fuel will be consumed with this new powertrain.

The fuel savings can be attributed to Audi’s weight saving programme which the new powertrain is a big contributor towards. Variable camshaft profiles also help to save fuel where it can by isolating cylinders for lighter loads. The V8 is for high performance driving and a V4 kicks in when the driver is just cruising.

New Vauxhall Zafira Unveiled at Frankfurt Motor Show

The new Vauxhall Zafira Tourer was unveiled in Germany at the Frankfurt Motor Show recently. Vauxhall have also revealed that the new MPV will be priced from £21,000. Sadly UK sales will not start until next year but Vauxhall dealers in Loughborough cannot wait to display the new model in their showroom.

This model is going to be a great contender with the aggressive price strategy that Vauxhall looks set to embark on. The £21,000 price tag is for the entry level 1.8 ES Vauxhall Zafira Tourer and is sure to rival competitors in the same class.

Vauxhalls new seven seater is 190mm longer than the original Zafira which makes the cabin even more comfortable for passengers. For those that would be worried about manoeuvring a slightly bigger MPV then there is no need to worry as Vauxhall is offering a variety of driving aids to make life easier. These include lane departure warning, cruise control, blind spot alert and a parking aid that guides motorists into suitable spaces.

The new Zafira Tourer will be available with a choice of engines and trims. The ES trim will be positioned as the entry level model then the Exclusiv, Sri, SE and Elite versions will be available above those.

Engines are going to include 1.8 litre petrol and 1.4 litre turbocharged engine each delivering 138 bhp. The new Zafira Tourer will also be available with a 2.0 litre diesel engine producing 109bhp, 128bhp and 163bhp.

Citroen Tubik Concept Brings Something New

If you have not yet explored the new Citroen Tubik concept then I suggest you do. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it looks like an extremely futuristic MPV inside and out.

The concept model has been kitted out with the latest mod cons including driver display. The driver cabin looks like a bubble which has been described by designers as the ‘cyclotron’. This rounded pod contains all the controls and systems the driver will need for an enjoyable drive.

The passenger cabin looks like a comfortable lounge complete with adjustable seating and big screen. The passenger seats can be folded to be used as a table or even folded for an even more relaxing experience. Passengers even have the choice of flipping their seats into the cabin to face the other passengers to create a social able lounge like area.

Citroen have included characteristics of their Citroen Type H van in their design. The concept MPV hopes to bring excitement back into travel but whether a production model will be next? I’m not sure.

For more information about the new Citroen DS range however contact new and used cars Ipswich dealer, EMG. The new DS range has proved to be a big hit and at the Frankfurt Motor Show interest continued to generate around the models. To view the new Citroen DS3 nr Cambridge contact EMG today.

Do You Still Insist on a Test Drive when Buying a Car?

Research from the United States suggests that more and more car buyers are choosing not to take advantage of a test drive before buying a car. The negative experience of hard-sell tactics whilst in the driving seat has led many motorists to avoid the intense, and sometimes uncomfortable, situation altogether.

While the test drive is a prime opportunity for the salesperson to close the sale, buyers shouldn’t view it in this way, but rather as a way to check that the vehicle is in good working order and that they are completely comfortable behind the wheel. It should be considered a crucial part of the car buying process.

In addition, with an increasing number of online car marketplaces available, more and more vehicles are now being bought online. With online vehicle purchases it is all too easy to avoid the opportunity to take a test drive before purchasing.

Whilst a few years ago, it would have been unthinkable to buy a car without test driving it first, with the wealth of information that is now available to buyers on the internet, many now believe that the test drive is unnecessary.
A test drive is particularly important, however, when buying a second hand car. While new cars are usually covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, it’s not always the case when buying used cars Derby used car dealers, and dealerships across the UK, should always offer the option of a test drive. It is only when one drives a used car that it is possible to tell whether the car runs well, the gears change smoothly and the handling is to the driver’s requirements. So, while it may increase the amount of time spent choosing a vehicle, and there may be the uncomfortable ‘hard-sell’ from the dealer, only when a car is test driven can a buyer truly know that the car is right for them.

Zara Phillips Received First New Range Rover Evoque

Zara Phillips was the first official owner of the gorgeous new Evoque which she drove from the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials which she competed in. She looked extremely happy to be the first to take delivery and looking at the great Range Rover Evoque prices who wouldn’t be?

I honestly thought it was going to be more expensive but it is somewhat affordable. Zara Phillips got her hands on a 5 seat model complete with a 2.2 diesel engine supported by a 6 speed automatic transmission. The model sports the sought after Stornaway Grey body paint and is finished with a panoramic sunroof.

Inside Zara Phillips will be able to make use of park assist, surround camera technology and blind spot monitoring. I’m sure she will have a great sound system too.

Zara Phillips has been an ambassador for Land Rover for some time now so I guess it makes sense that she gets one if anyone before launch.

Before actual launch the new Range Rover Evoque received 6,000 pre orders from the UK alone and a massive 20,000 across the world. First official UK deliveries began on the 9th of September 2011…have you got yours?

How Safe Are Your Tyres?

Car manufacturers Peugeot and Citroen have become the latest two marques to join the TyreSafe campaign. This brings the number of vehicle manufacturer members to fifteen. Launched in 2006, TyreSafe is one of the UK leading tyre safety organisations, and is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of unsafe and illegal tyres to UK motorists.

Peugeot and Citroen will now take on the role of educating their customers about the importance of tyre maintenance.

Tyre safety is particularly important during the summer, when long journeys are taken by many motorists heading off on holiday. Before a long journey, always remember to check your tyre pressure is correct for the weight of the load you are carrying; the tyre tread is the correct depth, and also the general condition of the tyres is good. This includes checking the spare tyre also. Not only will these important checks reduce the likelihood of an accident, but correct tyre care can increase the life of tyres as well as reducing fuel bills. Under-inflated tyres wear out much quicker and need replacing more frequently. When a tyres is at eighty percent of the recommended pressure, tyre life is estimated to fall to around seventy-five percent; plus their rolling resistance increases which means that more fuel is required to drive the car.

Peugeot and Citroen customers will now be informed about the capabilities of their vehicles as the tyre safety message is distributed across their UK dealerships. The news should reassure buyers who may be looking to buy a new Peugeot Hampshire or perhaps a new Citroen in Staffordshire.

Successful launch of the new Audi A6

Audi introduced the A6 in 1994 to replace the Audi 100, since its launch the A6 has been available as an executive saloon or estate. The Audi A6 Estate is referred to as the Avant by Audi. The A6 has always been available as two wheel drive or with Audi’s famous Quattro permanent four wheel drive.

In 2011 Audi unveiled the 2012 A6 at Audi Southport, which is heavily based on the new Audi A7. It has Audi’s sleek and clean cut look with day time Led running lights. The new A6 is slightly larger than the old one; it is almost 3 inches longer and 1 inch wider. There are five engine choices, 2 petrols and 3 diesels – the petrol range is made up of a 2.8 litre FSI V6 with 204 horsepower and a 3.0 -litre supercharged FSI engine with 300 BHP.

Like all of Audi’s new models the A6 is expected to win many awards, the first has come from the 2011 Auto Express New Car awards. At the awards the A6 was named “Best Executive Saloon”.

Amy Wand, Audi UK's Product Manager for the Audi A6 Saloon, said: "We're delighted that the A6 Saloon has picked up its first award so soon after its launch, reinforcing the fact that it really sets the benchmark in its class for luxury and refinement. With such a wealth of innovative technology - which was long-reserved for the premium D segment – combined with advancements in lightweight construction and engine efficiency, the A6 has remained true to our 'Vorsprung durch Technik' philosophy, proving exactly why it is the class best-seller in Europe."

Is Your Car Likely To Be Stolen?

Car Insurance website confused.com has revealed that the Ford Ka is the least stolen car amongst its customers. The price comparison website states that not one of its customers has claimed for the theft of a Ford Ka since 1994, meaning it has a theft rate of less than 1 in 5000. Experts claim that it’s because the Ka has “no street cred among thieves”, but interestingly, the most stolen car is the Toyota Yaris, which is not exactly a highly desirable model. Approximately one in every 244 Toyota Yaris cars is stolen, and this is followed by the Volkswagen Touareg, with 1 in 256 lost to thieves.

Other models that are also less likely to be stolen include the Chevrolet Matiz, Hyundai i10 Comfort and Nissan Skyline, all which have tiny theft rates of 1 in 5000 or less.

Now, if you own a Toyota Yaris, it’s not exactly simple to change your car to a Ford Bracknell, Slough and Oxford car owners, and car owners throughout the UK can make a few simple changes to make your car less attractive to thieves however:

Take care of your car and don’t leave it in an untidy state. Thieves are more likely to break in if your car is in a mess and there is more chance that something valuable is hidden within the car. A messy car also suggests that you have left the car in a rush, meaning you may have left something valuable by mistake, like a mobile phone or cash.

Always park your car on your driveway if you have one. The closer your car is to you, the less likely a thief will target it. Also, always drive straight onto a driveway instead of reversing, and turn the wheels when parking. This makes the vehicle less desirable to a thief as it will take more effort to move it.
Finally, cars with fluffy toys are apparently less likely to be stolen, so if in doubt, add some fluffy friends to your car!

Would You Pass Your Driving Test Today?

Research has shown that nearly two thirds of UK motorists believe that they would not pass their driving test if they had to re-take it today. Car manufacturer Ford found that 67 per cent of drivers fear failure if they were to take the test today, with the figure rising to 73 per cent amongst 17-24 year olds. Twenty per cent of this younger age group also admitted to texting while driving. Other bad behaviours included changing the radio station or CD, which 60 per cent of respondents admitted to; driving with one hand (40 per cent); eating or drinking whilst driving (30 per cent) and talking on a mobile phone (10 per cent).

Picking up these bad habits has caused drivers to lose confidence in their ability to pass the strict testing method. Refresher lessons are available, however, and are recommended for drivers who feel they could benefit from some helpful reminders.

Interestingly, nearly half of the female drivers questioned believed that women are more talented drivers than men, with only one in five men interviewed believing this to be true. Women are generally perceived to be safer drivers, however, and this has been reflected in lower insurance premiums, as women tend to take fewer risks than men. Males aged between 17 and 24 are considered to be the most unsafe drivers on the road.

The survey also focused on which technology makes drivers feel safest, with airbags ranked top by 32 per cent of the respondents surveyed by Ford Surrey, and its stretch of the M25 is one of the least safe places to drive in Britain, while other unsafe areas include Slough, Bradford and Leeds.

Used Peugeot Basingstoke

Looking for a comfortable alternative to other popular import models in the market? Want to save money while still driving a capable and stylish car? Look no further than on a used Peugeot Basingstoke dealer when it comes to finding an affordable and charming used car. Peugeot cars are known to be one of the best when it comes to interior comfort but they are also known for providing reliable and quirkily styled cars that deliver refinement in each and every mile that you drive.

Buying a used car is a good idea in the trying times of today. With petrol prices always on the rise, it is best to settle for a mode of transport that is cheap to buy, cheap to insure and even cheaper to run. Of course, small cars fit perfectly into this job description and Peugeot is no stranger when it comes to small cars. A used Peugeot 107, for example, will be perfect for the Basingstoke resident who wants the French touch when it comes to affordable super mini cars. The 107 rides on the same platform as the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo but is differentiated due to the presence of the classic French ride. The 107 is a proper small car that somehow reminds you that city cars need not ride harshly or punish the driver and passengers with a bone crushing ride.

The Peugeot 308 is also a good car to buy in a used state as it provides more room and real world performance than the 107. The Peugeot 308 has a firmer ride that delivers exceptional handling capabilities but it still remains quiet and comfortable even when pushed to triple-digit speeds.

Want to find an impressive array of quality used Peugeots? Only a used Peugeot Basingstoke dealer will be able to provide you with a selection of used cars that bring good value for money.

Used Auris Gateshead

Used Auris Gateshead buyers are those who are looking for the perfect solution for a reliable and ultimately durable mode of everyday transport. There is no question about the famed toughness of Toyota cars as all the models in the lineup are capable of even surpassing the life of the owner itself. Toyota cars may not be the best in terms of styling, looks, performance and handling but Toyota cars, specifically the Auris, are those that will continue to keep running as long as you perform the right amount of maintenance during the life of the car.

The Toyota Auris is the replacement for the venerable Toyota Corolla. One can say that the Auris is indeed the Corolla albeit in bigger clothes and with more added insulation. The Auris is tuned to ride comfortably even when tackling harsh and pockmarked roads but this will also result in somewhat soggy handling. The tall profile does not help either but does provide a lot of interior space both in the front and the back.

Think of a used Auris as the perfect car for the Gateshead car buyer who demands something that is uncomplicated and fairly easy to drive. The available 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engine may not be the last word in terms of power and performance but both engines are able to propel the Auris to manageable speeds. The suspension may lack the feel and control of a sporty car but it does deliver a surprising amount of comfort that is considered to be the best in terms of previous generation Corollas. Space is more than adequate for four people and still manageable even when loaded with five adults.

Remember to only source quality used cars from a certified used Auris Gateshead dealer to get the lowest financing and leasing deals in the market.

BMW X5 Interior

The previous generation BMW X5 interior was capacious enough to accommodate five adults in supreme comfort. There is ample room in the back for large cargo and multiple travelling bags. However, BMW has answered to the plea of those who want the X5 to become a true people carrier: the X5 can now be specified with an added third row of seats.

How does this affect the new BMW X5 interior? Not much, actually. Do not expect tons of leg, shoulder and headroom in the third row as children and small people (including large dogs) only will sit comfortably in the third row of the X5. The good news is that the X5 remains to be a competent all around SUV that delivers spirited driving performance that is indeed worthy of the BMW badge.

The new BMW X5 not only has a marginally larger interior but some markets will also get to experience the efficient yet powerful nature of BMW’s new inline turbocharged petrol engines. UK car buyers still get the familiar 5.0-litre petrol V8 that provides 408bhp and a combined fuel mileage of 22.6mpg. Diesel car lovers will surely appreciate the X5 30d and 40d both in SE and Sport trims as both are capable of achieving an average of 37 or more miles to the gallon. Talk about power and efficiency: the X5 30d produces 245bhp while the X5 40d produces 306hp.

The BMW X5 interior is a classic mix of familiar BMW driver-oriented values with a sleek and modern touch. All BMW’s have relatively simple interiors with a touch of extravagance. The buttons and the controls, even the cup holder, feel solidly built and meant to last the life of the car. The dashboard materials are made from soft touch plastics that feel expensive to the touch. The BMW X5 is the ultimate sport activity vehicle designed to complement your active lifestyle.

Multiple awards for the BMW 5 Series

BMW has been producing the 5 Series executive midsize saloon since 1972. The 5 Series is BMW’s second best selling model, behind the BMW 3 Series. There have been six generations of the 5 Series produced to the date, my personal favourite has to be the 5th generation (2003-2010 model), it has the aggressive look of a big powerful car and the interior of a luxury jet liner.

The latest model was released in 2010, the most notable difference to me are the headlights, the new ones are going to take me some getting used to. In 2009 BMW Kings Lynn released the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, it is the 5 door equivalent of the normal 5 Series model. The Gran Turismo has the length of a 7 Series and the height of an X5, making it an unusual looking but very practical car.

The 2010 BMW 5 Series come with a choice of seven engines, 3 diesels and 4 petrols. The smallest petrol is a 3.0 litre with 204 bhp, the biggest petrol is the 4.4 litre twin turbo with 207bhp. The diesel range consists of a 2.0 litre with 184 bhp and a 3.0 litre engine with either 204 or 245 bhp. All three diesel units provide plenty of torque and grunt at low end.

At the 2011 Next Greencar awards the 5 Series was voted “Next Greencar Executive Car”. it was up against some stiff competition from the Audi and Volvo. At the Towcar Awards 2011, the BMW 520d Touring won the top prize, where it was the quickest, as well as the most economical and cleanest car in its class.

British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards 2011

Searching for a car is like the worst thing ever, as all the cars seem great at first but once you test drive it, u started hearing funny noises coming from the engine and that’s when you realise it’s a horrible car.

While searching on the internet for used cars in Suffolk, I came across an article about Volvo being awarded twice at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards 2011. The Volvo C30 wins the Best Small Family Car category, whilst Volvo Cars was awarded Thatcham's International Vehicle Security Award, at event which is held at the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre in Thatcham.

The Volvo C30 features a number of standard security features, including remote central locking with deadlocks, an anti-theft alarm and immobiliser, a level sensor and optional laminated side windows for extra security.

Volvo also announced an evolved version of its Volvo On Call, a mobile application for iPhone and Android mobile phones, which can be equipped on model year 12 vehicles, and provides the owner with the option to remotely check the status of the door locks and windows. The system will automatically send an alert if the alarm is triggered.

Martin Bayntun, Media Relations Manager at Volvo Car UK. "It gives me great pleasure to receive this award. It is in recognition of Volvo's continuing commitment to ensuring that not only are our customers safe while being in our vehicles, they are safe in the knowledge that their car is secure when out of sight."

Ford makes changes for 61 plate change

The latest plate change is looming, the “61” plate is due from September. Many manufacturers take this opportunity to add new models, revise model line ups and introduce more standard and optional equipment. Ford has made a number of updates and additions aimed at all market sectors.

Ford is celebrated its 100 years of UK car production by launching a special edition Ford Fiesta called the Ford Fiesta Centura. It comes with a 1.25 litre petrol engine and £600 worth of additional extras at no extra cost. The Centura model will be limited to just 1,000 models and come in metallic Panther Black paint, with chrome mirror and door caps, LED daylight running lamps, 16 inch seven spoke alloy wheels and a parking camera mounted in the rear view mirror.

A new entry level Ford Focus will be introduced in September called the Focus Studio; it comes with a 1.6 litre engine that can achieve 48 miles to the gallon. Standard equipment in the Focus Studio include 16in sports-style alloy wheels, body-coloured rear spoiler, USB connectivity, radio/CD and electrically operated body-coloured door mirrors with integrated turn indicators.

A new top of the range Ford Kuga Titanium X will also be introduced. It builds on the Titanium model and comes with full leather trim, 18in alloy wheels, LED daylight running lamps, large rear spoiler, panoramic roof, Bluetooth with voice control, USB connectivity, bi-xenon headlamps, heated front seats and power adjust driver seat.

Andy Barratt, Ford Britain sales director, said from a Ford dealer in Brighton, "Ford has the right '61'-plate line-up, combining design style, technology and affordability for our September customers. Dealers nationally are eager to introduce them to Ford's best range ever."

Audi Pushing Car Design Once Again

In 2010 Audi showed off the e-tron concept at numerous car shows, demonstrating Audi’s abilities to produce a good looking, sporty electric car. The e-tron was inspired by the need for alternative fuel vehicles, now Audi Bolton has created a car for pure urban use. Sketches of the Audi urban concept were unveiled today; it is a little more farfetched than the e-tron concept.

Going against tradition, the Audi Urban is a 1+1 seater, it is an ultra light car designed for the urban roads and high congestion areas. The Urban concept combines race car and roadster characteristics to create a fun urban car.

Unlike the e-tron concept, which was heavily based on other Audi models such as the R8 and the TT, the Urban concept is not based on any other Audi model. It will be created using lightweight construction, increasing efficiency and practicality.

The sketches released by Audi show an exterior design which has freestanding 21 inch wheels and surrounding protective plates which feature 'blinking' LED light strips. The body design is sleek and dynamic like a race car or roadster.

The interior is very unconventional, there is staggered seating for two people. The seats are set deep into the floor of the car, creating a low sporty driving position. All the materials and components used on the interior are made up of ultra light materials. Entry to the cabin is via the tailgate, and the roof can be manoeuvred and slides to the rear to open.

According to Audi the Audi Urban concept is designed to be powered by two e-tron electric motors and a lithium ion battery for powerful acceleration.

The new Suzuki Swift Sport will make its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt International Motor Show in Germany which run between the 13th and 25th of September. Suzuki has announced that the model will be more powerful with a sporty attitude and more efficient. Suzuki dealers are looking forward to welcoming the new Suzuki Swift to the family.

Due to a longer wheelbase the new swift uses sharper handling reinforced by new shock absorbers with internal rebound. Increased performance is balanced by stability control and seven airbags as standard. Optimum power is produced at 6900 rpm coupled by a six speed manual gear box for refined handling.

Peugeot Gets Interactive with e-motion

Peugeot has recently launched e-motion, an online interactive magazine that a car dealers in Romford told me about. The magazine seems to be like any other hard copy magazine but with added fun due to the interactive aspect of the magazine.

The magazine lets readers explore the first ever diesel electric car, the 3008 Hybrid4 as well as other new models. The magazine also gives us the opportunity to take a look at current Peugeot cars in more detail, much like if you wondered around Eddy Grimstead, Romford cars dealership.

The magazine features an interactive drum machine that challenges users to virtually drum to beat the machine. The winner will be awarded with a luxurious retreat to St Michael’s Hotel & Spa in Falmouth. Peugeot and partners, Universal Music Group will also give you more details about getting your hands on free music downloads for an entire year.

There is even a section about a architecture, sport and music talents that are established or even undiscovered. The Young Runaways, an upcoming band continues the music theme by taking the special edition Peugeot Sportiums on a road trip to the beach. The band cleverly promoted the car and the touch screen Clarion multimedia and navigation unit on their way to the beach.

Vauxhall Dealers Await New Vauxhall Models

Vauxhall have just announced some really exciting news about their involvement in the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. They are going to unveil a brand new ‘experimental car’ concept and that’s pretty much all they’ve told us.

I’m not sure if they will reveal more in the run up to the show in Germany but my guess is that we will have to wait until at least the 13th of September to find out any more. Vauxhall have kept the new concept very secret so I believe they will continue to do so in the next few weeks.

Frankfurt Motor Show runs from the 13th to the 25th September and will showcase some of the most innovative vehicles to date. Vauxhall have followed their announcement by confidently saying that people will not be disappointed with the level of innovation involved.

Vauxhall will also debut the latest ecoFLEX models that will be available starting the end of this year into early next. Vauxhall dealers in Leicestershire believe that every new Vauxhall in Loughborough will be welcomed with open arms.

Vauxhall dealers in Loughborough report that their customers are always looking to improve fuel economy and are growing more concerned about the effect they are having on the environment. The new ecoFLEX models and probably the new concept car will all adhere to these needs.

MINI Are Lunatics

To celebrate MINI’s 10th anniversary they have launched their Blast of with MINI Lunatics campaign. The virtual space world has many prizes hidden that owners can have the chance of winning by entering their mileage and being launched into ‘space’.

MINI has sold about 300,000 vehicles within the last 10 years and someone has calculated that drivers have travelled about 15 billion miles in them collectively. This equates to 600,000 round the world journeys or (this is where the space part comes in) 33,000 return journeys to the moon.

After MINI owners have entered their details into MINI Lunatics the MINI will fly into space where it will eventually stop at a virtual space docking station. Here drivers will have the chance of winning a variety of prizes. By clicking on the moon MINI owners can enter a prize draw by finding seven hidden words that have been placed across the website. This is your chance to win a trip for four people to Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Drivers with 252,000 miles (equivalent distance to the moon) or more will be eligible for a chance of winning limited edition MINI memorabilia. For more information about new MINI cars or their tenth anniversary visit MINI Kings Lynn.

Check Out the New Peugeot 107 Campaign

Peugeot launches a really cool social campaign to promote their new Peugeot 107 city car. New Peugeot Reading dealer, City Peugeot said that they had enjoyed putting videos together that they went on to share with friends across multiple social media channels.

On YouTube there are four separate scenarios that you can get involved with named: Fun, Glam, Share and VIP. People can visit the YouTube channel and build personalities for themselves or for their friends. Within the videos your name will appear and so will the photo you have uploaded.

VIP takes the user around a secret party inside a Peugeot 107. Inside is a stairway to an underground club where people are enjoying enjoying dancing to music. Glam (depending on sex) takes you into a photo shoot scenario. Fun enters you into a sporting challenge on top of a skyscraper. Lastly Share tells a story of a friend in desperate need of a lift to come meet you.

Peugeot has integrated the campaign with YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and email so that the video can be easily shared. The campaign is aimed at young drivers and draws on sporting activities, friendship, seduction and music.

New Ford Fiesta Centura Released Soon

To help Ford celebrate their 100th they have unveiled that they will release a special edition Ford Fiesta called the Ford Fiesta Centura. The name is fitting considering it is to celebrate their centenary year in the UK. Ford dealers in Birmingham and across the UK are excited for the vehicles launch at the end of the month.

Only 1000 special edition models will be produced but they will be kited out with the most sought after Ford accessories. These will include 16 inch seven spoke alloy wheels, a parking camera mounted to the rear view mirror and reverse parking sensors to ensure the alloys remain unscathed. LED daylight running lights, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers all add to the relaxing driving experience.

The limited edition new Ford Fiesta Centura will be available in three and five door variants and will be powered by a 1.25 litre 82bhp petrol engine. I’m not entirely sure what the mpg is for the model but the CO2 emissions are certainly low enough to allow the model to be exempt from road tax for the first year.

The Fiesta is one of Britain’s best loved Ford so it seems like the right choice to me. To honour the Model T, the first ever Ford vehicle in Britain in 1911 the new Ford Fiesta Centura will only be available in black just as the Model T was.

For more information about the new Ford in Birmingham contact Hills Ford, who will be more than happy to help you find the perfect Ford for you or simply offer some friendly advice.

Alfa Romeo MiTo Builds Awareness for Heart Research UK

Alfa Romeo managed to rope in some athletes to help out on their latest campaign to raise money for the Heart Research UK charity. Four athletes took naked photographs beside a new Alfa Romeo MiTo to help with the fundraising highlighting that Alfa Romeo are official car supplier to UK Athletics.

Former Olympic Heptathlon medallist and 400m runner Kelly Sotherton, 1500m runner Lisa Dobriskey, Sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and 400m runner Iwan Thomas all took their kit off to help Alfa Romeo raise money for the great cause. Themed around power and beauty the campaign took on the “Without heart we could be mere machines” slogan.

To further raise awareness and support for Heart Research UK Alfa Romeo is going to be donating £100 for every new Alfa Romeo MiTO that is sold throughout the UK in red. Power and beauty really does help to represent the brand especially when you look at the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and MiTo. They have truly developed a deep connection between the brand, endorsers and charity which is very respectable and relevant.

September Will Welcome New BMW 1 Series

In September the second generation BMW 1 Series Sport and Urban models will join the rest of the BMW family. The new BMW 1 Series will ooze class with luxurious interior materials and the latest innovative technologies available. I think my BMW Preston dealership said it will arrive on the 17th of September.

Personalising my BMW in Preston

The inside of the new BMW 1 Series is much larger allowing ease of access and a more comfortable driver/passenger experience with extended legroom. With a range of trims and accessories available BMW are really trying to encourage their drivers to personalise their models and to express their individuality. Extending the BMW 1 Series further are the Sport, Urban, ES, SE and the future M Sport trims. Looking forward to choosing the accessories to truly represent by style so that I can feel confident driving the new BMW in Preston.

The new 5 door will be powered by efficient new TwinPower Turbo engines that have been reported to cut motoring costs without compromising on performance. The engines have been mated with BMW EfficientDynamics technologies and Auto Start-Stop as standard to improve on efficiency even further. Together with an ECO PRO setting monitoring the pressure applied to the throttle the new BMW 1 Series will be the most economical in its class.

Excited for the New Citroen DS5

I am so excited for the new Citroen DS5 to be launched next year. It was unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show on the 18th of April 2011 and I can’t wait for my new and used Citroen Brighton dealer gets them in stock.

I will be waiting a while though as Citroen have announced it will be available in the UK sometime in spring 2012. It is the latest edition to the growing DS range and will become the third member of the family.

They say it can accommodate five adults which means we can all go road tripping together in the fuel efficient new Citroen. Complete with a diesel hybrid engine reported to produce 200bhp the new DS5 is said to emit 99g/km which in turn will help save me money at the petrol station whilst protecting the planet.

Citroen say it will be capable of four-wheel drive and will also have an electric only function. The diesel engine keeps you going on longer journeys. Looking forward to finding out exact stats and offerings but first got to get saving.

Car Treasure Hunt

At the weekend local Renault dealer in Sussex held a car treasure hunt to really start the school holidays with a bang. Dozens of families arrived to take part in the treasure in the hope of winning a new car.

It was lovely to see the sun out for the event, shining down on everyone who got involved. The treasure hunt started at the Woolpack pub in Burgess Hill. From there, families started their 25 mile journey through the local countryside.

The journey was broken up by car park challenges and prizes were given to winners of these challenges. Prizes included car valets and sat navs that were supplied by Dinnages Renault dealer. The overall winner however is lucky enough to receive a brand new Wind Roadster convertible also supplied by the Renault dealership in Sussex.

Dinnages are known for their involvement with local communities and the event last weekend continues to prove this. Dinnages are a Renault and Ford dealer selling new and used cars in Sussex. They also offer a wide range of commercial vehicles including the Renault trafic and Ford Transit vans in Brighton.

MINI Wins Award For Great Motability Offers

On Friday the 8th of July MINI UK was awarded Motability Manufacturer Partner in the ‘Up to 10,000 registrations’ category at the 2011 Motability Supplier awards. The event was hosted by television broadcaster Huw Edwards at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.

The award acknowledges their competitive strengths when it comes to integrating the Motability scheme into their overall business. Competitive pricing is not only apparent in just their sales but also through to servicing to ensure successful Motability Operations are in place.

Since joining the scheme in 2006, MINI has worked hard to produce great offers through every area of their business. Their hard work is highlighted by generating over 1,000 new car orders for the scheme already this year. Even more praise should be given to MINI for producing over 90% of these vehicles in the UK and creating much needed jobs for the country.

The MINI range offers great savings through the Motability Scheme and also through their fuel saving vehicles. The combined fuel consumption for the MINI One D is reported to produce an impressive 74.3mpg whilst emitting 99g/km of CO2. MINI Preston dealer, Bowker Motor Group are proud to be a part of this recognition and strive to keep up the great levels of customer service that MINI is renowned for.

Order the New Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet Now

The new Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is now available to order from UK dealerships including Volkswagen Kings Lynn dealer, Marriott Motor Group. The Golf Cabriolet hasn’t made an appearance for nine years so we are expecting its entrance to be great.

Making its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show the new VW Golf is expected to start deliveries in September. It seats four and allows easy access for rear passengers thanks to a 50:50 split and an Easy-Entry function.

The fabric soft top is electrically powered and can be lowered in just 9.5 seconds. They say that it can even be used whilst travelling at a max speed of 18mph.

There are three engines to choose from which include a 1.2-litre TSI 105 PS, 1.4-litre TSI 160 PS and a 1.6-litre TDI 105 PS. There are also three trims to choose from including the S, SE and GT. Another petrol and two diesel engines will offered towards the end of the year and VW will introduce DSG automatic transmissions and BlueMotion Technology later this year too.

Audi Launches 'Complete' Peace of Mind

Audi have just launched their new Audi Complete service and maintenance package. The service consists of a five year warranty, fixed price servicing and maintenance across every new Audi car.

Customers can choose from a fixed monthly payments or a one off monthly fee. Fees depend on models and mileage options however Audi have said that the service is transferable. That means that if you wish to sell your used Audi TT after the first couple of years of buying it from new for instance, the new owner can take on the service. Direct Debits can even be transferred at the owner’s request.

Audi are also providing new Audi car owners with an MOT for free which is due after the first 3 years of being on the road. I think this used to be available for three years and now they have extended it.

Tyre replacement is offered at an extra cost for an optional add on. Motorists can even specify mileage between 5,000 and 40,000 however the maximum mileage over five years is 90,000 miles. Thanks Audi for the extra peace of mind.

New BMW X5 is on My Wish List

The BMW X5 M is the answer to recent onslaughts of other high performance SUV’s sold in the market. Those who want ultimate pace and power in an SUV often look into other models but the X5 M provides a different approach to the world of ultra high performance SUV’s. I have been to see the stunning BMW in Bolton and I can say that it is definitely on my wish list.

It all starts with already capable and magnificent X5. BMW then hands over this model to the M engineers to dial in some serious grunt and ounce of body aesthetics. The result is an ultra fast SUV that seems to defy logic altogether.
The twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 produces 547hp and an astonishing 501lb-ft of torque and produces a monumental growl that will scare both animals and people alike. The BMW X5 M weighs in at more than 2.5 tons but is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62mph in 4.7 seconds. The feeling can only be described as out of this world.

However, there are certain prices to pay for this athleticism. The suspension is considered too hard to be used on city streets and react in a strange way when driven hard. Overall, ride comfort is compromised but still maintains a great deal of control when driven at speed.

The BMW X5 M is more of a stunner rather a good personal choice for a high performance SUV. The sheer engineering competence that engineers dialed into this model is enough to win it praises from the car-loving crowd. Ditto for the exterior styling and soft leather on the seats coupled with the superb driving position and expert handling.

If you desire a more comfortable and fuel miserly drive then stay away from the BMW X5 M as much as possible. If you are prepared to accept the consequences then prepare to experience like nothing else on Earth.

New Vauxhall Ampera Will Be Up For Rent

I have always wanted to drive one of those electric cars to see what they’re like so Vauxhall’s announcement to hire the new Ampera when it launches was great news. According to the car manufacturer the new Vauxhall Ampera will be available to rent in Europe from Europcar.

They think that here in Europe we are more accepting of the electric innovation and so they are trying to get us familiar with their new model. I think it’s a great idea as I would like to know how the electric cars felt before I think about buying one. Quite cool to think that it can be charged from the household plug socket that produces 240 volts (which is most).

They will be available to rent in Germany first and will eventually make their way to the UK for hire next year. The new electric technologies power the wheels at all times and when the battery dies, a generator powered by the petrol engine kicks in to make sure the electric motor still runs.

No fuel is used and no CO2 is emitted when the new Vauxhall Ampera is in battery mode. I’m not sure how many models will be involved in the car hire yet but if you are looking for more information, contact Vauxhall Oakham dealer Aston Vauxhall.

Ford Says Goodbye to CD Players

Ford has announced plans of ditching the CD player from their models and replacing it with digital connections. The lean towards digital entertainment came from reports that CD sales fell in the UK by 35% from 2006 to 2010.

Apparently the same report announced that digital album sales increased by seven times and around 98% of singles sold are accounted for by digital sales. It’s quite a sad thought that CD players may now be removed from cars but having said that I don’t use mine anymore as I have nowhere to store my CD’s in my used Ford in Wolverhampton.

Ford are saying that around 95% of the people that bought their new Ford Focus chose one that they could connect their MP3 players to. Unsurprisingly and comforting to know, 90% also opted for Bluetooth wireless connectivity. These stats has support Ford’s argument to remove CD players.

I still remember when tape players were a luxury and then CD players over ruled them. Now MP3 devices are taking over from the CD player. I wonder how many music takeovers there will be in my lifetime.

Simply Mazda

I have been looking at getting a new Mazda MX-5 from my Mazda Peterborough dealer these last few months although I have not yet been in to take one for a spin. The Beaulieu National Motor Show held their first ever Simply Mazda event on Sunday 10th of July in Hampshire. The event has pretty much convinced me that the Mazda MX-5 is the way to go.

Of around 400 Mazda models that attended the event, over 200 of these were the feisty Mazda MX-5’s. Attendees included individual Mazda owners, the MX-5 Owner’s Club, the RX-8 Owner’s Club and members of the Mazda Rotary club.

All models were displayed in the grounds of the museum however only the best were selected to take part in a procession. Graham Kett won the Pride of Ownership Award and was presented with £100 and a Beaulieu trophy. He is a member of the RX-8 Owner’s Club but more impressively is raising money for Help For Heroes by taking the car to almost every Japanese car show last year and even the 2010 Le Mans rally.

Not sure that my Mazda will be unique enough to compete with Mr Kett, however I would like to head to one of these meetings once I have my own Mazda MX-5.

BMW Enter 2012 German Touring Car series

BMW has released details about their new BMW M3 DTM concept car which is being tweaked to compete in the 2012 DTM German Touring Car series. Images that have been released portray the initial look of the new M3 DTM based on the fourth generation M3 but BMW warn that this may change quite a bit before the 2012 season.

It is clear to say that we won’t see the new BMW in Preston any time soon so most of us will have to wait until it hits the Motor Shows and the track. What we do know however is that BMW once had a great track record between 1087 and 1992 where they claimed 150 podium finishes of which 40 were race wins. We have also been told that BMW will be racing three M3’s next year BMW Team RBM, BMW Team RMG and BMW Team Schnitzer. The two drivers that have already been chosen and named are Andy Priaulx, and Augusto Farfus.

BMW has not entered the series in nearly 20 years so I’m sure they will be feeling the pressure to make sure everything is perfect. Adhering to new guidelines BMW have given their new M3 DTM a naturally aspirated 4.0 litre 480bhp V8 powertrain supported by a six speed gear box. BMW have reported that it is capable of accelerating form 0-62mph in about 3 seconds and can reach top speeds of 186mph.

One of the key new regulations is to improve upon the safety of the race cars. BMW has therefore made use of lightweight carbonfibre-reinforced plastic monocoque panels coupled with a robust steel roll cage. Another key updated rule is to cut the cost of the vehicles which is one of the reasons why BMW have decided to re-enter.

New Peugeot Headed for Frankfurt Motor Show

The Frankfurt Motor Show will be upon us before we know and I can’t wait to see some of the great new models that will be unveiled. I know that the new Peugeot 508 RXH will make its official debut in Germany between the 15th and 25th September 2011. The new Peugeot is aimed at a more luxury conscious market and offers the latest technologies and accessories both inside and out.

Peugeot have recently released details about their new model with the hope that interest will generate over the coming months in the run up to the show. The Peugeot 3008 will make it to showrooms (end of this year) before the 508 RXH but they will possess the same 2.0 litre diesel-hybrid 'HYbrid4' 200bhp engine. Peugeot have combined an electric motor and a 2.0 litre turbodiesel engine to power their forthcoming models.

The new Peugeot 508 RXH is said to support four wheel drive mode, with the electric motor powering the rear wheels and the combustion engine powering the front wheels. This is quite an interesting combination and I can’t wait to see how well it works and nor can my Peugeot Tunbridge Wells dealer, Thames Motor Group. They are looking forward to the specific details being revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show and are already excited about the launch which is due for next spring.

10 Congestion Free Citroen Models

For those out there looking for fuel efficient cars that look after the environment then I suggest taking a look at the new Citroen sub-100g/km of CO2 range. They offer now offer 10 models that all emit less than 100g/km of CO2 emissions and as a result also save motorists money at the pumps.

My Citroen Tunbridge Wells dealer, Thames Motor Group is proud that they can contribute to minimising the affect motoring can have on the environment. These 10 Citroen models are even excluded from London congestion charges and free V.E.D. I’ve heard that businesses benefit from B.I.K tax rates of 13% for nine of the sub-100g/km of CO2 and 0% for the C-Zero which doesn’t emit any CO2.

The CO2 friendly models are powertrain variations of the Citroen C3 and the Citroen C4. CO2 emissions from these 10 models range from an impressive 99g/km of CO2 to an even more impressive 93g/km. For those that are more interested in wallet savings I can say that certain models are capable of 78.5mpg.

New VW Polo Match Merges Best of Both Worlds

Volkswagen are ditching their old Moda and SE VW Polo trims and are introducing the new Volkswagen Polo Match. VW say that the Match will include the best of both the older trims.

I’m looking forward to going down to my Volkswagen Stowmarket dealer to understand what the Match will offer. I know that they have made a range of engines available, but that can sometimes make my decision even more difficult. That is why I like going into my Marriott Motor Group new and used Volkswagen dealership in Stowmarket to discuss what is on offer.

For those of you that do understand engines I have listed the engines offered with the new Volkswagen Polo Match:

1.2litre 59bhp petrol engine
1.4-litre 84bhp petrol engine
1.2-litre 74bhp diesel engine

The diesel is (not surprisingly) the more eco-friendly engine and only emits 102g/km. I’m a bit more clued up on that part as like doing my part for the planet. The petrol engines produce between 128g/km and 139g/km of CO2 emissions which is still impressive for a petrol engine.

Vauxhall Offer 0% Flexible Finance

I have been looking at purchasing a used Vauxhall Insignia in Gloucester however I have heard that starting Tuesday the 19th of July Vauxhall are launching a Flexible Finance promotion. This means that I may actually be able to afford to buy a new Vauxhall and my Vauxhall dealer in Gloucester, exciting times.

Terms and conditions outline that the finance must be taken between 24 and 60 months which is perfect for me. Vauxhall have also said that buyers can choose to use anything for nothing upwards as a deposit. They have even offered to help pay a finance deposit allowance too. Looking for an Agila? Vauxhall will pay £500, perhaps you’d prefer a Corsa? Vauxhall will pay £750. Any other Vauxhall model? Vauxhall will pay £1,000.

Sadly the Expression models aren’t included and neither is the Vauxhall Astra GTC but the 100,000 mile lifetime warranty is included. So not only can you have a new Vauxhall with 0% finance but you can have the peace of mind that it will be under warranty for its 100,000 mile life. Offer ends 30th September 2011.

New Ford Fiesta Special Edition Looks Sleek

Alongside the launch of the new Ford Fiesta Style is the Ford Fiesta Special Edition. It really does look pretty special complete with a choice of a diesel or petrol engine. This is definitely one for those drivers looking for a little extra from their Fiesta.

The twin exhaust coupled with the rear spoiler shows off the Fiesta’s sporty personality and the 17 inch alloy wheels adds something more. Black leather is used throughout the cabin from the heated seats to the hand brake.

If I was going to buy this new Ford in Reading I would definitely go for the Black Panther body paint. However there are seven colours to choose from but I would want to keep it black on the inside and out.

The next decision would be whether to go one of the petrol engines they offer or a diesel. I’ve never had a diesel before and one of the main things that I worry me about is that I would forget to use the diesel pump in the petrol station. I am going to visit my Reading Ford dealer to see what would suit me better, a 1.6-litre 94bhp Duratorq TDCi diesel engine or a Duratorq 1.6-litre, 132bhp petrol engine.

Car Dealer Power Awards 120 Metres off the Ground

The Spinnaker Tower is famous in Portsmouth for its mesmerising views. This year the Car Dealer Power Awards are being held at this impressive venue so that automotive website management companies, dealers and suppliers can enjoy the panoramic view.

Dealers across the UK have been nominating motor trade suppliers and car manufacturers for various awards. The nominations are based on the dealer’s personal experiences with each of the businesses. To be nominated and respected by industry is a privilege in its own right but we will have to wait until the 20th of July to find out who the winners will be.

I wish I was attending as I’m sure it will be a memorable evening, I'm sure there might be some magnificent photos of the views especially if it's a clear night. I wonder if there’s any other way I can get to the top of the Spinnaker Tower to be wined and dined.

Improved Style for the Ford Fiesta

News on the street is that Ford has given their Fiesta some more ‘Style’. Apparently it is going to be a new trim that sits above the entry level ‘Studio’ trim. Perhaps this is their way to connect with a female audience.

The new Ford Fiesta Style takes things up a gear and incorporates a few technologies that most of now take for granted, including electric front windows. Ford say that 75% of customers usually go for the high spec performance cars and believe the Style will provide different options for motorists looking for quality.

The new model will be available with a selection of engines. The two diesel engines include a 1.4 litre that produces either 70bhp or 95bhp. If you’re looking for a petrol engine you will ned to make a choice between the five that are on offer; a 1.25-litre with 59bhp or 80bhp, a 1.4-litre with 96bhp, available with manual or automatic transmissions, and a 1.6litre with 120 or 134bhp.

Door mirrors, bumpers and door handles match the rest of the cars paintwork. For more information about the new Ford in Basingstoke, contact Gowrings Ford Dealer.
