An earthquake and Tsunami devastated Japan on Friday and has frozen an already troubled economy. Toyota, one of the world’s largest carmaker has shut down their plants in Japan, some of which have suffered extensive damage.Global automotive companies are suggested to be the worst hit with Toyota losing around £2.4million for each day their plant is shut. Reports have said that their annual profit will have been squeezed suggesting this year Toyota will be between 3% and 8% worse off.
Japanese made cars including the Toyota Yaris could be in short supply in the coming months due to production lines temporarily being shut down.
