Toyota Halves Production

After the disaster that struck Japan, car manufacturers are struggling to continue with their usual production. Toyota Motor is one of the worst hit car manufacturers due to the earthquake and tsunami.

Toyota has recently announced that they will only be able to produce around 50% of what they are usually capable of between 10th May and 3rd June 2011. After this date Toyota will re-assess production capability. This will obviously be dependent on their supplies and their other contributing companies.

The tsunami and earthquake in Japan has affected Toyota’s global supply chain. Apparently it can take up to six weeks for parts to arrive in Europe from Japan.

For more information about how it has affected a local Toyota car dealer in Newcastle, contact Hodgson. They sell a wide range of new and used cars in Newcastle and have been overwhelmed by the local support they have received.
